Willing to tell us about how you’re using generative AI in your work within the STI ecosystem?

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Galileo AI is a collaborative initiative between the ICI Canada and Algonquin College to develop an AI-powered platform for mapping and understanding complex ecosystems. This tool aims to enhance decision-making capabilities for leaders navigating Canada's response to global challenges.

POTENTIAL KEY FEATURES:

  • Interactive ecosystem mapping and visualization.

  • AI-powered analysis and insights.

  • Collaborative decision-making tools.

  • Scenario planning and forecasting.

  • Multi-stakeholder perspective integration.

PURPOSE

In today's interconnected world, decision-makers need better tools to understand and address complex challenges across economic, social, environmental, geopolitical, and technological domains. Galileo AI combines advanced artificial intelligence with systems thinking to help visualize relationships, forecast outcomes, and identify opportunities for intervention within Canada's science, technology, and innovation ecosystem.

DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP

The Galileo AI project represents a unique collaboration between ICI Canada and Algonquin College's Bachelor of Technology program. From September 2024 to April 2025, a team of final-year students will work on developing the platform's prototype, bringing fresh perspectives and technical expertise to this innovative project.

IMPACT

By enhancing our ability to understand and navigate complex systems, Galileo AI will help:

  • Strengthen collaboration across Canada's innovation ecosystem

  • Improve evidence-based decision-making

  • Foster innovative solutions to complex challenges

  • Support Canada's adaptation to global changes

PROJECT STATUS

Currently in development, with the first prototype demo planned for May 2025. We are actively engaging with stakeholders across sectors to ensure Galileo AI meets the needs of Canada's innovation ecosystem.
